A historic Fortress town, situated by the water and surrounded by greenery; that's Bergen op Zoom. Experience it all on this route. In the city centre, you will find many monuments and remnants of old fortifications. Walking through water without getting your feet wet, you will experience that at Fort de Roovere. You will also pass country estates of allure, namely Lievensberg and Mattemburgh, along the way. At visitor centres Natuurpodium and de Kraaijenberg you can experience Brabantse Wal. The Bergse Heide and de Binnenschelde recreational lake are a great place for recreation. One of the largest wetland areas in the Netherlands, het Markiezaatsmeer, offers beautiful views.
