Fort de Roovere
Fort de Roovere is part of the West Brabant Waterline. From 1628, this waterline offered resistance to several European armies. Together, the forts Moermont, Pinssen, de Roovere and Henricus, Halsters Laag, the Liniewal and the Ravelijn formed the defence line. Along the earthen walls and moats, beautiful walking routes have been marked out. Major crowd-pullers are the trench bridge, also known as the Mozesbrug, and uitkijktoren Pompejus. At the world-famous Mozesbrug, you walk deep through the water, but your feet stay dry! Like the uitkijktoren Pompejus, this trench bridge was designed by Ro&Ad architects. Brave the 129 steps and enjoy the beautiful view at 25 metres hoogte.
