Bunkertreppe
Viewpoint on top of a Bunker. After the Mozesbrug on Fort de Roovere in Halsteren, the bridge on the Ravelijn in Bergen op Zoom and the picnic tables at the Blauwe Sluis in Kruisland, this is another creation by Ro&Ad Architecten on the Brabantse Wal. In the village of De Heen, near Benedensas, a wooden staircase has been placed on top of a WWII bunker that towers no less than nine metres above the dike. After climbing the staircase, which balances entirely on the edge of the bunker, you look out over the Volkerak, but also see Zeeland and South Holland. Inside the bunker is an (unmanned) information point with everything about the West Brabant Waterline.
