De Gevangenpoort
Bergen Bergen op Zoom's only surviving medieval city gate. After the gate lost its function as an entrance gate, this monument was renamed Gevangenpoort. The wooden prison doors the tower steps and the original names of inmates carved in wood make a visit a true experience.
Opening hours
- Open from 26 April 2026 to 31 October 2026, Tuesday to Sunday from 1.00 pm to 4.30 pm.
From 1 November 2026 to 26 April 2027, open on Saturdays and Sundays from 1.00 pm to 4.30 pm.
