The woods of the Landgoed Wouwse Plantage are of exceptional beauty and are among the most beautiful in Brabant. The national monuments on the Plantage Centre, such as the hunting lodge, the white castle and the sawmill, are privately owned.

On the landgoed Wouwse Plantage, hills rise up to twenty metres above sea level. One of these hills is said to be a prehistoric burial mound. The whole area of Wouwse Plantage is about 900 hectares and lies on a sand ridge formed about 20,000 years ago. Wouwse Plantage has a rich history and there have been various owners over the centuries. The estate has now grown into a beautiful nature reserve with different forest types. For some animals such as the woodpecker, nightjar, black woodpecker and woodlark, the area is among the most important breeding areas in the Netherlands.

Walking
Part of the Estate is open and 3 signposted walking routes have been created. The walking routes start at the unmanned information centre along Plantage Lane. Plantage Centrum can only be visited during the annual Castle Day and Harvest Fair. On some Wednesdays in July and August, a guide takes visitors around the estate, past the national monuments and the brandweermuseum. Inform at VVV Roosendaal about the activities.
