Roode Weel
Roode Weel is a remarkably large water between narrow creeks, created after a dike breach. It is disconnected from the entire creek system of Cruijslandse Kreken and therefore has its own water management. It is a very valuable nature reserve. The meadow is always full of water birds. The wide reed beds are the breeding ground of, among others, the marsh harrier. The viewpoint on the north side offers unobstructed views of the various birds.
A bird-watching hut designed by RO&AD architects has been placed at the Roode Weel and offers stunning views of the nature reserve. The hut accommodates up to five to six people.
Accoya wood has been used. Just like the Bunkertreppe at de Heen and the Mozesbrug in Halsteren. This creates a unity between the various objects that make up the West Brabantse Waterlinie.
