De Schaft
An informal hospitality spot at Fort de Roovere, part of the West Brabant Waterlinie/South Waterlinie. From 1628, this water line offered resistance to several European armies. Together, the forts Moermont, Pinssen, de Roovere and Henricus, Halsters Laag, the Liniewal and the Ravelijn formed the defence line. Along the earthen ramparts and moats, beautiful walking routes have been laid out. Follow the yellow route for a walk of about 2 km. After your walk, enjoy a snack and a drink in de Schaft.
At the world-famous Mozesbrug, you walk deep through the water, but your feet stay dry! Like the uitkijktoren Pompejus, this trench bridge was designed by Ro&Ad architects. Brave the 129 steps and enjoy the beautiful view at 25 metres hoogte.
