Gummaruskerk
Construction of the church started in 1831 but was only completed in 1903 to become the church that stands today. It is a picture-perfect, oriented neo-Gothic church with tall crossing tower(hoogte 78 m).
The present St Gummaruskerk replaced a church from the early 19th century that had become too small. The church is among the most important later works in the oeuvre of Dr P.J.H. Cuypers, albeit the design was executed in a modified form by his son Joseph Cuypers (1861 - 1949) and Jan Stuyt (1868 - 1934). Due to acts of war, the church was badly damaged in 1944. Repairs followed in 1949; the tower was rebuilt in 1960.
The church is closed in January and February.
