Markiezaatskade
The Markiezaatskade is a four-kilometre-long auxiliary dam that frames Bergen op Zoom het Markiezaatsmeer. The kade is not completely straight, but has a curious kink. The cause is a hefty storm that punched a hole during the construction of the kade.
On the south side of the Markiezaatskade, you pass the Kreekrak locks overlooking the Oester dam.
Climbing the watchtower is rewarded with stunning views of the canal, the
locks and het Markiezaatsmeer.
