Rondleiding Fort de Roovere
Contact
Fort de Roovere is part of the West Brabant Waterline. From 1628, this waterline offered resistance to several European armies. Together, the forts Moermont, Pinssen, de Roovere and Henricus, Halsters Laag, the Liniewal and the Ravelijn formed the defence line. Fort de Roovere was recently restored to its former glory. Along the earthen walls and moats, beautiful walking routes have been set out. Together with City Guides Bergen op Zoom, VVV Brabantse Wal offers you the opportunity to take a walk around the Fort de Roovere. During this walk, you will pass many remains of French trenches.

A special work of art on Fort de Roovere is the trench bridge. Its design is praised at home and abroad. You walk through water and your feet stay dry! Combined with the guided tour by Stadsgidsen Bergen op Zoom, a visit to Fort de Roovere is quite an experience! Climbing the Pompejus Tower gives you a beautiful view over the Brabantse Wal and completes your experience.
After the walk, you can relax with a snack and a drink at De Schaft, the Information Centre at the fort.
As the tour is largely in the forest, sturdy footwear is necessary. You are also advised to wear long trousers due to nettles.
