With a reception in the outbuilding of a monumental, 17th-century farmhouse and a coach house converted into a pancake farm, you can feel the rich history everywhere here. The friendly owners are happy to tell you all about it. De Uitwijk is one of those warm family businesses that really puts you, the guest, first.
Tip for your visit: bring your walking shoes! The river and polder landscape around De Uitwijk is very inviting.You can explore on foot the little diversions along the Steenbergsche Vliet, the historic sluice complex Benedensas or the beautiful bird paradise of the Dintelse Gorzen, although adventurers may want to get into one of those Canadian canoes for an exploration from the water.
With Zeeland just a stone's throw away, you can also easily fit in a day trip to the world-famous Delta Works. For outlet shopping, drive just the other way, towards Roosendaal.
