Jenny van Herwijnen Schepers' work can be described as realistic to magical-realist with a humorous undertone. With hidden references and puns, she tries to put a smile over tragedy. Bringing thoughts onto canvas and combining old utensils up to and including contemporary rubbish, collecting them and putting them together for as long as it takes, until a painting emerges that will tell its own story, that is the world in which she moves every day.
