Zoommeer
Zoommeer is a freshwater lake and located south of Tholen and west of Bergen op Zoom, on the site of the drowned land of Reimerswaal. The 1053-hectare area is on the Natura 2000 list. Zoommeer was created by the construction of the Oester Dam and the Markiezaatskade, and is part of the Scheldt-Rhine connection, a tide-free shipping link between Antwerp and Rotterdam. Via the Schelde-Rijnkanaal, the lake is in direct connection with the Krammer/Volkerak. Zoommeer provides ships with access to the port of Bergen op Zoom.
