Halsters Laag
The Halsters Laag is a special place. A lowland between two northern foothills of the Brabantse Wal, the high sand barrier from Belgium to Steenbergen. At the same time, the Halsters Laag lies in the transition zone where sandy and clay soils meet: the Naad van Brabant. This brings groundwater of very good quality (seepage water) to the surface. The Halsters Laag has therefore been given the status of 'Wet natural pearl'. It is a low-lying area consisting of (wet) grasslands, groves, alder bushes and pools.
Walking: the French path. The walk (4 km) leads you through the beautiful area with two faces. Departure: from the car park at Laageinde, Lepelstraat.
