Built in the 15th century, het Markiezenhof was the residential palace of the lords and marquises of Bergen op Zoom. As the oldest City Palace in the Netherlands, het Markiezenhof is one of the four official Top Monuments of Brabant (alongside the Sint Janskathedraal in 's-Hertogenbosch, the Grote Kerk in Breda and Kasteel Heeswijk), and a must-visit for anyone with an interest in heritage and history. Besides a museum about the history of Bergen op Zoom and surrounding region, het Markiezenhof also houses the Funfair Museum: great fun for children, too! In addition, all facilities for a successful business event are available - suitable for smaller groups as well as meetings with hundreds of guests - and it is also possible to get married in this special building. Bride Annette expressed her experience as follows: "Great location to get married and take photos. Staff were very friendly and very patient with this nervous bride."
