Nature Work Day
The IVN’s ‘Scharrelkids’ will be working alongside volunteers and forest rangers to make the natural environment a little bit more beautiful. Children and their parents who would like to help are very welcome!
Here’s how it works
In Zoomland, on Mastendreef in Bergen op Zoom , there is a hedgerow. To prevent this hedgerow from turning into a forest, regular maintenance is required. On this day, we will be pruning the trees on the wooded bank. We will use the prunings to create a brushwood fence. By pruning the wooded bank, we are promoting greater biodiversity and preserving its cultural and historical value.
Tools and gloves will be provided. During the break, coffee or tea and a snack will be served. Please bring sturdy shoes and rainwear if rain is forecast.
