Tim Hartog

Principles. Lovely! Those self-imposed fundamental rules of life that always seem to come at the most inconvenient moment when it really matters. Look, in principle I don’t lie, but if you ask me how I’m getting on, you’ll get the rosy summary rather than the whole story. It’s quite handy if I want to elicit that feigned interest again next time. Principles are all well and good, but life’s hard enough without them. ‘In principle’, this show is about principles. Unless it turns out that this goes against my principles. In which case, no. Do I have principled objections? Certainly, but as long as you buy a ticket, you’re, in principle, very welcome.

In recent years, Tim Hartog has proven himself to be a unique stage personality thanks to his sharp observations. With his engaging style, he effortlessly captivates any audience. In doing so, he does not shy away from confrontational topics. Following the success of his previous show ‘Frictie’, he returns to theatres this season with ‘In principe’. Expect a performance in which Tim offers his observations with a healthy dose of self-deprecation and humour. In principle, that is.
