Music & Wonders of The Beatles

Rock pianist Roel van Velzen, jazz/soul pianist Ruben Hein and classical pianist Daria van den Bercken are joining forces in the theatre concert *Music & Wonders of The Beatles*! A unique show in which they ‘use’ The Beatles to showcase and celebrate the richness of music. The music of The Beatles continues to inspire millions. John, Paul, George and Ringo dared to experiment playfully with instruments, lyrics and styles. Now, exactly 60 years after The Beatles’ final tour, Daria, Roel and Ruben are carrying on the legacy.

Surrounded by a wealth of keyboard instruments, they treat the listener to their renditions of major Beatles hits, whilst also brilliantly reviving lesser-known gems from the albums *Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band*, *The White Album* and *Abbey Road*. With a fresh perspective, they also explore the soul, jazz, Motown and classical music influences in The Beatles’ music. They are supported in this by drummer/guitarist Julian du Perron and Nathalie Schaap on bass and double bass.

The three pianists complement one another and take turns as storytellers. ‘Why do some Beatles songs remind us of 19th-century music?’ and ‘What does Fats Domino have to do with The Beatles?’ The stories come to life in Music & Wonders of The Beatles.

Daria’s fingers fly across the keys at breakneck speed, Roel and Ruben’s voices blend together and the band kicks off… Enjoy an enchanting evening at the theatre with a musical spectacle for music lovers of all generations.
